Eva to rollerblade to Germany
When Eva Reichardt was asked why she had decided to rollerblade from Bournemouth to her home town of Heckholzhausen in Germany, a total distance of 865 km her response was straightforward ‘Why not?’.

Eva currently studies Forensic sciences at Bournemouth University while maintaining a rigorous exercise routine and working part time in a local bar. Her drive and enthusiasm for life is immediately evident on our initial introduction. Eva says that she had decided to undertake the mammoth skate well before she had decided what charity she was going to support.
‘I wanted to do something I could tell my children about’ she said as I probed her for the inspiration behind her trip. At 20 years old she is certainly not your ‘typical student’; she’s acutely aware of what she wants her future to be.
The skate has been carefully planned so as to avoid major motorways but other than that Eva seems to have little concerns. I asked her if she had considered undertaking the trip with a partner, but she simply dismissed the idea saying that she would probably be ‘slowed down.’ Jay a friend and supporter of The Murry Foundation will follow Eva, documenting and photographing her progress, although he is adamant his travelling will take place in the comfort of his car.
Eva met with tragedy when her best friend was killed while rollerblading. This journey will be a tribute to his memory and will create the opportunity to support a cause that has grown close to Eva’s heart since talking to Adam Murry and learning about the work of his foundation.

Eva plans to cover the 865km in fourteen days and is hoping to attract a major sponsor along with personal donations before her departure on June 1st 2008.
Eva has researched the plight of animals across the world and as a proactive person, decided that this can be her first step towards helping those most in need. After spending four and a half years in the UK she sets an example that many other young people should follow. After a bout of illness and series of operations her training begins this week. The Foundation wishes her every success on her mission and is very grateful for her support. |
