Joanne Louise Malcolm

Joanne Malcolm.

The Murry Foundation would, whilst sending their condolences, like to thank the family and friends of Miss Joanne Louise Malcolm for their kind donation in the aftermath of her untimely death.

Aged just 17, Joanne was tragically killed in an accident on 13th November 2007, when her car veered off the road and collided with a tree, regrettably Joanna died instantly. She was in the final year of Sixth Form College at Poole Grammar School and looking forward to going to university.

After being shown the charity’s DVD by a family member, Joanne became a regular visitor to The Murry Foundation’s website, keeping up to date on all projects and ventures. A vegetarian at an early age she was fervent about animals – condemning all acts of cruelty towards them.  Her passion in life was horses and riding.  Joanne would make good use of her spare time, helping out at either the Studland Riding Stable or the RAC Riding stables at Bovingdon.

Daniel Malcolm, Joanne’s brother explained to The Foundation the circumstances of the heartbreaking accident “On the 13th November 2007 Joanne had been riding at Bovington, it was about 9pm at night when she made her way home along the A35 between Bere Regis and Poole.  As she approached the Bloxworth turning, her car somehow left the road and collided with a tree killing Joanne instantly.  We still have no idea how this happened although the weather was very bad and she had reduced visibility.”

The Murry Foundation were deeply saddened by this tragedy which took such a young life and will make sure that the donation received will help us in our goal to alleviate animal and human suffering globally
