Charles Wilson is the Managing Director of Swains Voice & Data plc with whom The Murry Foundation has just launched a new and exciting fund raising initiative.
For almost fifteen years Charles has had a close association with Native American people and has spent time on tribal lands learning about their culture and belief systems. He has been invited to witness sacred dance ceremonies and over the past twelve years has participated in fourteen such dances.
2008 sees Charles dancing in his seventh Sun-Moon Dance. In previous years Charles has raised funds for children’s charities in the Ukraine, Bulgaria and the UK. This year Charles is seeking sponsorship to raise funds for The Murry Foundation. Please contact Adam Murry with your pledge.
The Sun-Moon Dance
The Sun-Moon Dance is a four-day ceremony where the dancers dance outside in a circular arbour. They dance to a tree in the centre of the arbour from dawn to dusk (with rests) to native drumming and chanting. The dancers dry fast, that is to say, they abstain from all food and drink for the duration of the dance. The Sun-Moon Dance is a “giveaway” ceremony where the dancers dance for the healing of all creation. They “give” themselves freely and completely to the dance. Dancers often enter an altered state of being and are capable of great feats of energetic activity.
Please support Charles in his “giveaway” by making a donation to The Murry Foundation. The Sun-Moon Dance is a healing ceremony, please help with that healing. |
