17.09.09 Three Peak Challenge

Andy Gibson & Stuart Kemp

Hey Guys!

The background of the challenge is simple - to climb the three highest peaks across England, Scotland and Wales all within 24hours and this includes 10hours driving.. so only leaving us with 14hours of walking time to complete all 3 mountains...

WHY? Well if where completely honest we decided to take up the challenge whilst enjoying a refreshing pint at one of our locals :-) "ahh beer - the source of many ideas that seem so good at the time" but we also thought it would be a great way to raise money through sponorship for the MURRY FOUNDATION.

THE MURRY FOUNDATION - The money raised through our 3 Peaks Challenge will all be heading to help continue the awesome work that is going on helping orphan children at the Murry Village in Nepal.  We have recently had friends visit Nepal who also raised money and pulled together to provide a School with essential learning materials, the stories our friends brought back of how appreciative the children were for any support was amazing!

SCHEDULE:
Friday 18th September
- 10pm leave Bournemouth for Ben Nevis (10hour drive)

Saturday 19th September
- 4pm begin our 5 hour hike on Ben Nevis
- 9pm back in the car for a 7hour drive into the Lake District and to search out Scafell Pike

Sunday 20th September
- 4am head-up Scafell Pike which should take us 4hours to complete the walk up & down
- 8am a quick 3 hour drive to Mt Snowdon in Wales for the final mountain
- 11am run up & down Snowdon.. hummm maybe not .. but as fast as we can with the energy we have left :-)
- FINISH ! We are aiming to be down Mt Snowdon for 3pm to complete the challenge in 23hours...

We shall see...!

Thank you for taking the time out to visit our page and for all sponsorship money donated, i hope you will agree that all money raised is going to an excellent cause :-)
