The Murry Foundation 2006

For every long and lonely light, there follows a new dawn. The world has seen another dark year, warfare, cruelty death and despair. At times humanity has wandered blind in the darkness, unsure of its footing, but at others individuals have risen above the mediocre levels set by mankind and built the foundations of a positive and more hopeful future.

The Murry Foundation has made some giant, and often arduous steps towards a brighter future for those most in need of help, aided by a number of charity events that involved a myriad of sporting heroes including Evander Holyfield, Nigel Benn and the tenacious Steve Collins. Steve’s support has been continuous and unflinching as he has become increasingly involved with the orphan village.

Friends and supporters of the Murry Foundation gathered at a charity dinner and auction at the Royal Bath Hotel to raise money for the orphans and animals. Gail Porter, another celebrity present at the dinner, increased the public awareness of the Murry Foundation when she appeared on The Sharon Osborne show to discuss her visit to South Africa with Adam.

On a personal note, a year of work with the foundation has been an exhilarating but often difficult process. I have witnessed certain acts of brutality towards animals that one would not believe were possible by so-called humans. I have also on the other hand been privy to crucial developments that have not only saved lives but cast smiles across once forlorn faces – there has been no greater gift.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported the charity. You can be sure that every word of encouragement, every penny and smile is gratefully received. I would also like to thank all of you on the front line, working under continuous pressure and hardship, to provide help and sanctuary to those in need. You have my utmost respect and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In 2007 the Murry Foundation will save more animals across the world and provide more salvation for orphans as more villages are being developed. As you read this message a twinning program for the orphan school in Nepal and local schools is being installed, utilising a purpose built website that will allow pupils to communicate across continents.

As the night brings a new dawn, so the recession of one year will bring about a new year of hope and possibility. To all the friends and supporters of the Murry Foundation, we wish you a very happy New Year. To all those who have benefited from the various projects co-ordinated by us, we can assure you that this new year will bring you the support you deserve. And finally, to those in need of help, we, The Murry Foundation, promise that we will not retreat or surrender in our quest to make our world a better place.
