ORPHAN CHILDREN VILLAGE NEPAL
BACKGROUND AND MAJOR ISSUES:
The Kingdom of Nepal is a small-medium size country, located in the central region of the Himalayas between India and China.
Nepal is a land locked mountainous country. Its total area is 147181 sq. km According to its geographical structure it has three different structures. 17% plains, 68% hills and 15% Himalayas All types of climate and vegetation are found in Nepal. There are 27,000,000 people living in Nepal.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries of the world. This beautiful mountain kingdom has been suffering from civil unrest since the last 10 years. Affected by extreme poverty, internal conflicts, social discrimination, and lack of opportunities hundreds of orphan children leave their villages and come to Kathmandu in search of work. Many of these orphans land up working as child laborers in restaurants and their life gets further exploited in cities.
At present, the orphan children are facing many problems. Nepal¡¦s Government has plans for the orphan children, which at this time is by no means sufficient or effective. Very few orphans are taken care of by NGO's and Ingo's, many are working as domestic servants, in vehicles and factories, some are working in India and many are found as street children. They do not get education or good food and shelter. They are suffering from many different disease¡¦s including AIDS.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The main objectives of this project are to build an orphan children¡¦s village in Chitwan Nepal.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
To provide basic needs, building a sense of security
To build orphan school¡¦s with living accommodation
To provide orphaned school¡¦s with modern education stressing conservation and ecology as part of the curriculum.
To provide and teach social activities
To teach skilled saleable manpower
OUTPUT
Orphaned children will get nutritious food, clothes and a homely safe atmosphere.
A facilitate school with a good infrastructure will be made.
Skilled teachers and staff with certified environmental knowledge will be provided.
Orphaned children will be provided various social activities so that they obtain knowledge to adopt in the community.
Orphaned children will receive good Education, good social behaviors and they will be skilled with saleable manpower for the country in the future.
METHODS/ACTIVITIES
Location : Chitwan
Area : One hectare of land will be purchased and left in trust to the children.
Construction : The project will be completed in four different phases as shown in the table.
